Philo is well recorded in the Tennessee area. His marriage to Peggy
Teague and their issue is shown both in Rhea and Meigs Counties. His
father is shown to live in the near vicinity of Philo but no record of his
mother. Records show several children by Peggy.
Philo married Lideatt Myres after Peggy's death and had children by her.
James C was their son and a picture of him is available. Their marriage
and children are well recorded in the Meigs County archives.
Philo died at age 47. Some evidence shows that suspicious circustances
shroud the event. Thomas Allen was overheard in an argument with his stepmother. He was heard to say "You better leave me be because you
know that I know you killed my father". This info was passed byTheodore
Blain who heard his father say it. It is a fact that bad blood was between
Thomas Allen and Liddy Myres.
Plesent Colvin tried to be accepted into the Cherokee Indian tribe but was
rejected. This gives some evidence that his grandmother was in fact a Native
American.
